Suicide Bereavement Support Service

On Highland Hospital Radio we are dedicated to supporting good mental health, giving a voice to the many charities and services and doing what we can towards Suicide Prevention.
However, in 2024 there were over 700 recorded suicides in Scotland.
The effects of every death by suicide are devastating to relatives, extended family and friends, and sometimes entire communities.
Change Mental Health's Suicide Bereavement Support Service have a team dedicated support practitioners across Highland and Argyll & Bute who can support anyone affected by suicide.

Annalie & Tom are two members of the team, and they popped into the Highland Hospital Radio studios to chat to Tom about what they do to support people affected by suicide.
You can hear about some of the positive outcomes they have been able to achieve with the people they have supported in the 5 years of the team's work. They also explain the process for how support is delivered and how anyone can reach out to them.

You can listen to the episode from The Saturday Drop In here.
